Here's a look back to another one of my favorite spring weddings. Rachel and Warren were so incredible to work with: they are both so artistic, creative, and have such an inspiring relationship. Happy Fourth Anniversary, Guys!
Rachel and Warren hosted their wedding at Warren's family estate in Santa Barbara. They did an incredible job designing their wedding to complement the architecture, landscaping, and interior design of the estate. They used muted, natural tones, complemented by warm "pops" of color. Their wedding was intimate, beautiful, very personalized, and so much fun!
It was an intimate family affair: Rachel's sister served as her Maid of Honor and Warren's brother served as his Best Man. Rachel created the bouquets (and incidentally has her own floral design business) - she is so talented!
The ceremony took place in the formal living room. We removed all of the furniture, constructed a small stage (covered in persian rugs), and created an intimate setting for Rachel and Warren to exchange their vows. Before the wedding party came down the aisle, a photo slideshow played for guests showing pictures from both of their childhoods. It was a creative alternative to the traditional prelude music.
The photo shoot of the bride and groom immediately after the ceremony is one of my favorites to-date. I truly believe that the best pictures from a wedding day come in the 15-20 minutes after the ceremony. These moments are so beautiful and intimate.
For the reception, guests were escorted into the Loggia for dinner and dancing. The Loggia has a beautiful glass ceiling, spanish tiling, and a huge fire place. Rachel did all of the flowers. I loved the miniature terrariums (which served as favors) and vintage glassware, paired with customized beer bottles (and home-brewed beer). The Father of the Groom also had one of the courtyard patios be covered to provide space for dancing as the evening went on. Palazzio's catered a wonderful meal, and friends of the bride and groom made dessert. It was a beautiful evening to remember and an honor to be a part of such a special day.
