Black Tie wedding in the heart of downtown Santa barbara

Uncategorized

Natalie + Eduardo were married in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara at the Hotel Californian.  We especially loved planning this wedding alongside Natalie + Eduardo because they truly made their wedding a weekend experience in the heart of Santa Barbara.  Guests stayed at the Hotel California, with it’s bold black and white decor.  At check-in, they were greeted with cute welcome bags with local Santa Barbara goodies.  Then, the Santa Barbara Trolleys picked up the guests and took them on a tour of downtown Santa Barbara, ending at the historic La Arcadia Plaza, where they had dinner and drinks.  The following day, guests enjoyed downtown Santa Barbara before the wedding.
Natalie wore a stunning, detailed Berta gown and Eduardo wore a classic tuxedo with a white coat.  Natalie’s bouquet was created with garden roses, white peonies, ranunculus, and Sahara beige roses.  The bridesmaids wore black evening gowns and the groomsmen wore traditional tuxedos.  The classic wedding party attire complimented the black and white theme of the hotel perfectly
The ceremony took place on a rooftop overlooking downtown Santa Barbara.  Natalie + Eduardo said their vows as the sun set, surrounded by family and friends.  We created an arch of florals in the ceremony space, adorned with soft chiffon and surrounded by hundreds of white candles.
The guests then enjoyed cocktails under a canopy of bistro lights outside.  We styled a beautiful black and white lounge in the cocktail space.
Instead of a traditional escort card display, guests were greeted with a glass of champagne as they entered the reception space, with a small hand-lettered tag denoting their space.  The tag was in the shape of a hexagon, reflecting the tile patterns in the hotel architecture. The black and white ballroom was completely transformed for dinner.  We installed romantic crawling vines on the chandeliers, across the fireplace, and in all the white and beige floral arrangements on the table, to give the modern space a romantic, whimsical feel.  Each table had black and white linens, modern china and glassware, and dozens of candles.  Over the fireplace, we suspended a neon sign that read, “That’s Amore.” The guests enjoyed a four-course, Italian-inspired dinner, and then danced until late into the night.  It was a beautiful evening to remember!
